Here’s What! What three things are you obsessed with?

I’m getting right into it, beautiful people!  (If you’re new here, I do this little feature every Friday, and it’s all the random crap that I’m completely obsessed with.)  Get into it!

1.  The big reveal!!!  Remember that I told you that I would show you what the save-the-dates looked like?  Well…I’m finally doing it cause if you haven’t checked your mail by now, it’s your own damned fault!

DSC_0497This is exactly what I had in my head when we started this – and the very very talented Evane Corder brought them to life for me.  I had them printed at a local boutique-style paper shop for super-affordable, and I addressed them myself with these metallic sharpies.  Very cool, and very involved process.

2.  Frank’s Red Hot Sauce.  “I put that shit on everything.”  I’m mostly a Tabasco type of lady, but Austin introduced me to Franks Red hot recently, and I literally just poured it all over my body this mac & cheese I made last night, and it really took me to the next level.  I’m not sure how I rank them, but Sriracha, Tasbasco, and Frank’s are like the 3 faves right now.

3.  Buttons + Etsy!  I made my first Etsy purchase earlier this week.  Wanna see?

DSC_0498The bag on the left is 5 pounds worth of white, clear, tan and beige buttons from a very sweet vendor on Etsy.  This weekend (and a little bit this evening), I will be working to create stems for my button/brooch bouquets, and I am SO thrilled to be able to share them with you when they’re done!  Eep!

Now honey-bears.  What three things are you obsessed with on this ridiculously warm Friday?

Here’s What! What three things are you obsessed with today!

It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday….

Okay, so are you kinda obsessed with the fact that it’s the weekend again? And that Monday is Cinco de Mayo? And that means that I will be drinking tequila. Pictures to come. Or maybe not. I want to keep my job.

Here’s what three things I’m obsessed with this Friday!

mean-girls-im-from-michigan1.  Mean Girls 10th Anniversary.  It literally never gets old.  Ever.  I wish Lindsay the best…I’m serious!

2.  When the drug reps bring lunch to the office.  I’m starting to get obsessed with budgeting a little bit, and I’ve figured out an awesome little trick to making sure that I get a free and healthy lunch.  Now, I try and pack my lunch each day.  On the days that I pack lunch and a drug rep brings lunch, I make a plate of the healthy stuff that most of the folks avoid, and shove it in the back of the fridge with my name on it.  The following day (or sometimes two) I have lunch that’s healthy, and it’s free!  Best. EVER!

3.  The Nike Women’s Half Marathon.  I talked about this earlier today, but look at this.

photo 4My smile could not get any bigger that day, and I was floating on clouds for like days.

This is what I’m obsessed with this week.

What three things are you obsessed with?

Here’s What! Puppy edition!

So today’s “Here’s What” is a little bit different because this Friday is a very very special Friday.

First and foremost, Happy Friday, and a big huge congrats to all the participants in this year’s Boston Marathon.  I know a few folks here in Raleigh that raced and finished, and I’m so proud of their huge accomplishment.  Here are two of my friends who did it!  Congrats to them!

Hokay.

So earlier this week, I posted a little teaser to Instagram…

So are you curious yet?  Do you want to know what it’s about?

So, let’s back it up to March 1st of 2014, when a friend of a friend adopted a dog from a shelter.  The dog was underweight, a Belgian Malinois, which is sort of akin to a German Shepard.  So the dog’s Mama, Andrea, was sitting with her on the couch on Saturday night when the dog had an “accident”.

Before long, Andrea realized that the “accident” on the couch was no accident, and that Georgia, the dog, was delivering 7 puppies!

Unfortunately, one of the puppies was lost, but Andrea successfully delivered 6 healthy little puppies, 3 boys and 3 girls and is letting them stay until they’re weaned off their mama.  Wanna see?

Those little tongues!

So here is the deal with these precious little bundles.

They were be available to be adopted in about 6 weeks.

Andrea WILL NOT adopt them out to just anyone.  If you are interested in adopting them, please shoot me an email – Cheri.Armour@gmail.com.  I will forward your information over to Andrea, and she is prepped to vet you, because even though she would love to keep these pups herself, she physically cannot do it.

This is what I’m obsessed with today.

What are you obsessed with this Friday?

Here’s What! What three things are you obsessed with?

If you’re new here, I do this every Friday, and here’s last Friday’s so you can kinda get the gist of what we do around here.

So let’s get started!

1.  MY SAVE THE DATES ARE ALL DONE.  Now, by all done, I mean they’re all printed up, and I still need to address them and stick them with stamps, but I am a step closer to getting things accomplished.  And it feels awesome.  I would absolutely show you them, but I want them to be something of a surprise to the folks who I’m sending them to.  But if you’re really curious, email me or comment, and I will definitely send you a little preview.

2.  Something really terrible has happened to me.  I have been waking up early to work out.  And I sort of love it.  Mainly because my body is looking really sexual, and I have been lifting more weights and stuff.  I’m not sure if it’s making me any faster or anything, but my little abs are coming in!

3.  Rock ‘n’ Roll Raleigh.  And this one isn’t a funny ha-ha obsession, but I really loved the race for a few reasons.  The course was hilly, and the race was no-doubt, really challenging, but it was a challenge in the best way.  Even though it was hilly, and I worked really hard, I smiled for most of the race, and it was so arresting to see so many folks out spectating.  The tunnel leading to the finish was incredible.  That roar?  I won’t forget that.

But, all of that said, two men died at the race on Sunday, and I’m still feeling really confused about that.  I feel so deeply for the families of the men, and it makes me want to make sure that I get my check-ups every year.  Can a doctor catch everything?  Certainly not.  But I want a doctor to be able to tell me if I’m not healthy enough for the level of racing that I will be doing.  And I thank these men for helping me remember to take care of myself.

Here’s What! What three things are you obsessed with?

How is it Friday again?

Idk, I feel like I’ve been asking that a lot lately.  But I love it.

Okay, so if you missed on on last week, here you go 🙂

And onto my obsessions!

1.  Zyrtec.  Spring has sprung in good ol’ Carolina, and since I spent the entire afternoon outside, I am sick as a dog.  My throat is killing me.  Yes, I’ve been killing em with the neti pot, but I think my best bet is another Zyrtec, begging Austin to pick up some essentials for me from the Eckard/Rite Aid or whatever the hell you call it, and go to bed in like 5 minutes.

Mama loves you.

2. “Quit Sleeping on Us”

This is my brother and he’s ridiculously talented.  He’s the one with the green mohawk PS.

3.  Holley Mangold

Duh.

4.  And I added a fourth cause I’m the boss and I can.  It’s Rock ‘n’ Roll time and I’m so excited I’m dead!  I’m also sorta bummed that my allergies have chosen this week to act up, but c’est la vie, right?

Okay, what three things are you excited about/obsessed with?

Here’s What! What three things are you obsessed with?

I literally don’t understand why in the world it’s Friday again.  Here I am, sitting in the living room with the world’s worst-behaved animals at midnight, and I’m writing to you all.  Love!

If you missed the last few weeks’ “Here’s What”, please educate yourself on the things that I’m obsessed with…

And now, onto the list!!!

1.  Wedding crafting.  If there was a legit opportunity for me to quit my job, and just blog and do wedding stuff all day, I would totally do it..  Tonight, I spent the entire evening working on little invites for the bridesmaids and for the groomsmen. I’m really excited to see what our folks think about them, but here’s a little sneaky peeky.

photoAre you dead?  Mama did this with some card stock, some craft paper, my hot glue gun, and some glue sticks.  Hashtag dead.  Hashtag when is the date again?  Hashtag oh yeah, it’s right there, bottom right.

2.  I found a new place in Raleigh where I can spend all my money.  I was looking for a lot of buttons, and I went to this cool place called Ornamenta in Raleigh.  The coolest store ever.  Jewelry, charms, chains, a work station for you to make jewelry at.  And all I could think was cool stuff I could make for you guys.

DSC_0203 DSC_0204And yes babes, I took that photo.  I am available for hire après my wedding.

3.  Waking up early to get stuff done.  I wouldn’t say necessarily I’m into waking up early, like it doesn’t get me all hot and bothered, however, since the foster Beagle’s been here, I’ve been so down to wake up early and walk him and the Coco, and take them out to walk, poop, and play.  I also get to vacuum the floors before work which is also a plus.

Those are mine.  What three things are you obsessed with on this warm Friday?

Here’s What is baaaack!

Last friday, I wasn’t feeling particularly inspired, and didn’t feel like pretending I was obsessed with anything, so I skipped it, but she’s baaack!  I’m obsessed with more stuff!

So, now, if you missed the last few posts, here they are 🙂

Okay, so onto my obsessions.

DSC_0164
1.  Kombucha.  I have been obsessed with kombucha for a very very long time, but I’m not sure I’ve ever written about it.  So prior to trying GTs Kombucha, I’d tried a few other brands after this girl at work told me it would magically fix a hangover, and it tasted terrible.  And then, someone introduced me the Cosmic Cran flavor of Synergy Kombucha, and I was totally hooked.  There is not a flavor I’ve had that I’ve hated, and the best day to describe it is that it’s kinda like a fruity carbonated drink with a little hint of vinegar.  It’s an ancient tea that basically feels like it works on your insides, kinda the same way that Activia does and resets everything to where it’s supposed to go.  The bottle I’m drinking, at 60 calories a bottle, isn’t hard on the waistline either!  So when I wrote to them and told them how positively obsessed I was with their product, they sent me a really nice note, plus a coupon for a free bottle.  Yum!  I’m enjoying it now!  If you can afford it, I’d drink one a few times a week and see if your tummy doesn’t feel magnificent!

2.  Prior to running Rock ‘n’ Roll USA, I was at the book store at purchased Demi Lovato’s book, Stay Strong, which is a daily devotional type situation.  It’s not religious, but it’s inspirational, and it’s really cool to have a cool book that a beautiful, talented young woman has written.  I love it.

3.  The Positive Pit Bull.    I was in North Hills at the Starbucks, and walked around the corner to Woof Gang Bakery, where I get Coco’s treats from when I ran into the literal cutest Pit Bull lady I’d ever seen in my life.  As it turns out, the Positive Pit Bill, a Raleigh non-profit that works to change the image of pit bulls, and get pit bulls a lot of them who are at kill shelters here, adopted.  I’m promise you that for a second, I tried to take one of the dogs home until I thought of what my husband-to-be might say.  Check out some of the photos I snapped!

This is the one that I fell in love with.  Hey, Postive Pit, if she’s still available, and you don’t think she will eat my little poodle mix, can you hook us up?  I can’t stop thinking about her!

Okay.  So what three things are you obsessed with this Friday?

Here’s What! What three things are you obsessed with?

By now, I think you’re familiar with my here’s what, a little slice I stole from Bravo Andy.  If you’ve missed any of my ‘Here’s What’ segments, I’ll fill you in.

Okay, so go there, and review…

Now come back!

Here’s what three things I’m obsessed with this beautiful Carolina Friday.

P1160262

  • Whole Foods Soup.  Mama doesn’t cook on Thursday evenings because I usually teach my Thursday evening Zumba classes, try to get a few miles in after.  By the time I get home, it’s late, and I don’t feel like cooking.  I try to avoid the fast food trap and go for something a little cleaner, and soup was perfect on this kind of blustery night.  Tonight’s soup was a roasted garlic sweet potato.  A little weird. Mostly awesome though, especially when the spice kind of hits you

P1160261

  • Amazon.  Is there anything you can’t buy off of Amazon?  I ordered two bras off Amazon and because they were Prime, they showed up like two days after I ordered them.  New Balance isn’t paying me to say this (quite unfortunately) but this bra, the “Discreetly Sassy Psyche” is awesome.  It’s minimizing, it won’t give you a uni-boob, and a little bit of underwire lifts and keeps you from bouncing all over the place.  Try this bra!

P1160263

  • I found chocolate malt balls in the bulk section at Whole Foods.  It’s Whole Foods related, so it can’t be bad for me, right?

MMkay, that’s what I’m up to this week with what I’m obsessed with.  What three things are you obsessed with?

Here’s What!

I’m sorry ladies and gents, I’m so late with this post!  You can usually expect my posts at 7:30 each morning, but I’m walking on the wild  side this morning, and I’m a little late with everything.  I feel so swamped this week, and I hope to use this weekend to catch up on some of the stuff I let fall by the wayside this week.

Moving right along!

If you missed my Here’s What!  posts, here’s the review from the last few Fridays!

So here’s what three things I’m obsessed with on this gross Friday!

  • Playing catch-up this weekend.  Seriously, I feel like I’m so tired, and as a result, everything else has gone to poop.  I have a stack of mail on the dining room table, I desperately need to do some laundry and vacuum, and I want to do something related to the wedding this weekend.  Something. I don’t care what.  Just something.
  • Alcohol.  Just kidding!  No, so I tool these pics last night because me and Austin had the first date night we’ve had in a while.  (I promise this is going somewhere.) So anyhoo, I took these pics on my iPhone.  Well readers of this blog, rejoice, because I will be getting an actual real camera, and flexing my photog muscles a little more here on the blog.  As an early wedding present, a family member offered to buy us a camera of our choosing!  Can you believe it?  I’m so pumped!
  • photo 1 (5)Fripp Island, SC.  I am so pumped – I can’t stand it.
Fripp
via exitbeaufort.com

So a good friend, Kelly, invited us to spend some time with her and some friends on Fripp. I haven’t been before – we’ve only been to Beaufort once, but I am SO excited – not only to hang out/run on a beautiful island in beautiful weather, but to hang out with amazing friends.

So I have a beautiful life.  What 3 things are you obsessed with this week?
